Runnin’ Bulldogs Drop Three Set Decision at High Point Thursday

HIGH POINT, N.C.- The Gardner-Webb volleyball team fell at Big South Conference leader High Point in straight sets Thursday evening.
Gardner-Webb (4-10, 4-10 Big South) fell to High Point (14-0, 14-0 Big South) by scores of 25-7. 25-13, and 25-14.
The Runnin' Bulldogs totaled 19 kills on 95 swings with 26 attacking errors, hitting at a -.074 rate. The Panthers had 37 kills on 82 attempts with six errors, attacking at a .378 clip.
Kylee Garrison paced the GWU attack with five kills on 19 swings, while Tori Weatherley dished out a team-high 11 assists.
Mikah McIntosh led the 'Dogs with nine digs, while Alexandria Roycraft had one block to lead that effort.
The HPU attack was led by Sopheea Mink with eight kills on 14 attempts. Mackenzi Thornburg led the Panthers with 11 assists.
Abby Bottomley led High Point with 14 digs, while Gabrielle Idlebird had a match-high seven block assists.
Both teams square off again tomorrow at 2:00 pm to wrap up the regular season.
