BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Runnin' Bulldog's Men's Soccer took on Big South Conference opponent Campbell on Wednesday evening. Gardner-Webb took the eventual loss to Campbell, 1-0.
Manuel Prieto scored the only and eventual game winning goal for the Campbell Camel's off of an assist from teammate Braden Teller at the 40 minute mark in tonight's matchup.
The Camel's paced the matchup in shots, firing a total of ten with just four of those on goal. The Runnin' Bulldogs took a grand total of five shots with just a single one on goal.
Owen Zaldivar led the team by taking three of those shots,
Kharrel Medza had one, and
Kyle Mabwa had one off of the bench as well. Mabwa's shot was the only shot on goal in tonights matchup against the Camel's.
Taking the shutout and the win for Campbell, Samuel Lechuga spent the full 90 minutes in goal having just a single save. On the Gardner-Webb side, Ben Schade had three saves and just one goal against.
Gardner-Webb Men's Soccer will be back in action on Sunday, April 11
th at 2:00 PM, as they travel to take on UNC Asheville.
