Khalilah Conway & Ryan McGuffin Named To Big South Track & Field All-Academic Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb had two members of the program named to the 2021 Big South Track & Field All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday Evening.
 
Khalilah Conway was named to the Women's All-Academic Team, and Ryan McGuffin was named to the Men's All-Academic Team.

Conway's season has been highlighted by a number of personal bests in the 100-meter hurdles (Aggie Invite, 15.23), the 400-meter (Vertklasse Meeting, 1:03.15), and the high jump (Winthrop Spring Invite, 1.57m). Conway took home two first place finishes this season, both on the same day of the Winthrop Spring Invitational on March 13th. Conway placed first in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.29 at the finish, and first in the women's high jump by hitting a mark of 1.57 meters. Conway also has maintained a 3.52 GPA in the Nursing program at Gardner-Webb.
 
Ryan McGuffin, R-Sr., Sprints/Jumps
Ryan McGuffin has finished within the top four in the Long Jump four times throughout the season. Most Recently McGuffin took fourth place in the men's long jump at the Virginia Grand Prix by hitting a mark of 7.30 meters, which is a personal best, as well as a top two mark in Gardner-Webb Program history. In addition to his performances on the track, McGuffin has excelled in the classroom as well by maintaining an impressive 3.95 GPA in English.
