
Gardner-Webb Men’s Soccer Announces 2021 Schedule

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Head Coach Tony Setzer, who will enter his 34th year at the head of the Gardner-Webb Men's Soccer program, announced a strenuous 19-game schedule for the approaching 2021 season.
11 of the 19 matches are non-conference games, which feature three exhibition matches against Elon (Aug. 15th), Milligan (Aug. 18th), and Davidson (Aug. 21st). The Runnin' Bulldogs will begin their regular season non-conference action as they take on SoCon opponent Mercer on Thursday, August 26th in Macon, Ga.
The first home game of the regular season is set to take place at Greene-Harbison Stadium on Tuesday, September 7th as the Runnin' Bulldogs face off against the Wofford Terriers. The last time that the Runnin' Bulldogs and Terriers battled against each other was in September of 2019, where GWU came out with a 1-0 win.
Gardner-Webb will open up their Big South conference slate on the road against USC Upstate on Saturday, September 25th. This past season during the spring 2021 campaign, GWU fell to the Spartans in a 1-2 overtime loss.
The Runnin' Bulldogs men's soccer schedule includes home games against Milligan (Aug. 18th), Wofford (Sept. 7th), VMI (Sept. 11th), UAB (Sept. 18th), High Point (Oct. 2nd), UNC Asheville (Oct. 13th), Longwood (Oct. 16th), and Winthrop (Nov. 3rd). With away games at Elon (Aug. 15th), Davidson (Aug. 21st), Mercer (Aug. 26th), UNC Greensboro (Aug. 29th), Furman (Sept. 3rd), Liberty (Sept. 14th), USC Upstate (Sept. 25th), South Carolina (Sept. 28th), Campbell (Oct. 6th), Radford (Oct. 23rd), and Presbyterian (Oct. 30th)

The Big South Men's Soccer Championship will be held the week of November 7th. With Quarterfinals taking place on Sunday, Nov 7th, Semifinals on Wednesday Nov. 10th, and the Championship on Sunday, Nov. 14th. The champion receives the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
