Ayana Bezares Commits To Gardner-Webb Softball

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Runnin' Bulldogs Softball Head Coach Bailey Wigness locked in her third signee Ayana Bezares on Monday morning.
"Ayana 'Jerzey' Bezares is our diamond in the rough and I am so thrilled to be getting such a great player this late in the game," said Head Coach Bailey Wigness. "Bezares' athleticism is off the charts, not to mention that she moves extremely well. The sky is the limit for her, and I believe that she will do great things here at Gardner-Webb."
The Carteret, New Jersey native comes to Boiling Springs with four years of Varsity experience under her belt from Boca Raton Community High School, and additional experience playing for TNT Softball. During Bezares' high school career she occupied shortstop for Head Coach Bill Thompson.
Bezares has earned herself several very impressive accolades, which include the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year Award, and the Presidential Award for Outstand Academic Achievement in the classroom.
