GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's soccer team took on UNC Greensboro at UNCG Soccer Stadium on Sunday night. The Spartans walked away with a 2-0 win over the 'Dogs.
The two goals scored by the Spartans happened in the 42
nd and 75 minute of match play, respectively.
UNCG paced the matchup in shots, firing a total of nine, with just five of those on goal. GWU took a total of two shots, with just a single shot on goal.
Ryan Madondo and
Dorian Mousset each recorded one shot for the Red and Black, and Madondo's lone shot was on goal.
Goalkeeper Niclas Wild took the shutout win for the Spartans, allowing zero goals against, and recording a single save in the matchup. Runnin' Bulldog goalkeeper
Mallel Rios allowed two goals against and had three saves tonight.
The 'Dogs will be back in action on Friday, September 3
rd, as they take on the Furman Paladins in Greenville, S.C. Gametime is set for 7 p.m.
