Spartanburg, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's soccer team took a quick trip down the road to face off against Big South conference foe USC Upstate on Saturday night. GWU took home the 1-0 shutout over USC Upstate.

Sebastian Reventlow, he really helped us to seal the win."
The Runnin' Bulldogs sealed the win in the 77
th minute of match play, as
Sebastian Reventlow netted the game winner off of a pass from teammate
Omar Boudaka.
Eight total yellow cards were issued throughout tonight's game, with three of those of those issued to the 'Dogs and five given to the Spartans.
The Runnin' Bulldogs outshot the Spartans 17 to 10 throughout the night. GWU was given six corner kicks during match play, and USC Upstate had just half. Gardner-Webb committed 17 fouls, and USC Upstate had 11.
Mallel Rios helped earn the shutout win for GWU, as he spent the full match between the posts and recorded three big saves throughout the match.
Gardner-Webb men's soccer will be back in action on Tuesday, September 28
th, as they travel to Columbia, S.C. to face the University of South Carolina. The match is slated to start at 7:00 pm.
