
Hornaday Selected as Big South Freshman of the Week for Third Time of 2022

CHARLOTTE – The Big South Conference announced the winners of their weekly awards. The league selected Gardner-Webb's Morgan Hornaday (Greenfield, Ind.) as the Freshman of the Week.
Hornaday collected 83 assists (8.3 per set) and 20 digs (2.0 per set) between Friday's 2-3 loss at Campbell and Saturday's 3-2 win at Charleston Southern. Friday's win saw her post the 5th double-double of the season with 42 assists and 11 digs while Saturday she was a dig away from her 6th as she finished with 41 assists and 9 digs.
This marked her third time being selected as the conference freshman of the week. Hornaday is the first player from Gardner-Webb to earn this honor at least three times in a season since Laura Wilcox in 2008.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return to the court on Thursday, October 27 playing at UNC Asheville with a start of 6:00 p.m.
