BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team locked in a big senior day victory over Winthrop inside Paul Porter Arena on Saturday afternoon. The final score was 80-51, in favor of the Runnin' Bulldogs.

Gardner-Webb (15-14,13-5) shot 45.6% (31-for-68) from the floor, 42.3% (11-for-26) from long range, and 70.0% (7-for-10) at the charity stripe. The Runnin' Bulldogs took advantage of 30 points in the paint, 26 points off of turnovers, and 10 second-chance points.Â

Winthrop (6-23,4-14) shot 39.2% (20-for-51) from field-goal range, 50.0% (4-for-8), and 63.6% (7-for-11) at the free-throw line. The Eagles scored 28 points in the paint and 28 points off of the bench.Â

Ki'Ari Cain led the offensive front with a team-high 21 points in today's matchup. Cain also had her hand on 10 assists, locking in a double-double for her. The 21 points and 10 assists register as new career-highs for the Sumpter, South Carolina native.Â

Alasia Smith followed with 18 points and 10 rebounds. This marks the thirteenth double-double (16 of career) for the Johnson City, Tennessee native.Â
