Gardner-Webb Wraps Up Competition On Final Day Of Buccaneer Invite

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Gardner-Webb wrapped up the final day of the Buccaneer Invite on Saturday Afternoon, which was highlighted by several top finishes and new program records. 
 
Julian Smallwood placed second in the men's shot put by hitting a mark of 16.96 meters. Smallwood's second-place finish was a personal best and a new top three all-time program record.
 
In the men's high jump, Eliel Cuesta placed eighth overall by hitting a mark of 1.85, which is a new personal best for him.
 
As for the women's shot put, Jaden Finch took second by hitting a new personal best of 13.91 meters, which is new top three all-time program record. 
 
Eliel Cuesta hit a new personal best of 12.69 meters in the men's triple jump.
 
In the women's 3,000-meter run, Amy Prugh placed fifth with a time of 10:15.61 at the finish. Prugh's time in the event is a new top-two all-time program record. 
 
Taylor Robinson (5:55.07) and Camile Sykes (5:56.27) each recorded a personal best time in the women's 1-mile run. 
 
Patrick Sastre ran a time of 4:24.71 in the men's 1 mile, which is a new top seven all-time program record. 
 
Faith Parandhamaia ran a personal best time of 2:24.40 in the women's 800 meters. 
 
In the women's 4X400 meter relay, the squad of Austin, Payne, Ivanov, and Mitchell took eighth place with a time of 4:04.24 at the finish.
 
As for the men's 4X400 meter relay, the squad of Hinton, Thornhill, Amour, and Sastre took second place overall with a time of 3:17.51, which is a new program record. 
 
Gardner-Webb will be back in action on Friday, February 11th at the VMI Classic in Lexington, Virginia.
