Andrea Lyon Named Big South Pitcher Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb's Andrea Lyon (West Columbia, S.C.) is the Pitcher of the Week for games played March 7-13, it was announced today by the conference office.
Lyon went 3-1 in the circle last week with 20 strikeouts and a 0.91 earned run average in 23.0 innings pitched. She first earned a 4-1 complete game win over Detroit Mercy last Tuesday, in which she fanned six batters and allowed just three hits and no earned runs. Lyon then defeated Hampton, 2-1, in the series opener Friday with five strikeouts in seven innings, and earned a relief victory in game two of the doubleheader that day with four Ks in 2.0 innings.
