CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Runnin' Bulldogs wrapped up the final day of competition in the Catamount Classic on Saturday afternoon, which was highlighted by several gold medal finishes and personal bests.
Autumn Drayton took gold in the women's hammer by hitting a mark of 51.61 meters, which is a new top six all-time program record.
Jaden Finch (47.59 meters) placed fifth and
Karmen Taylor (45.49 meters) took seventh overall.
In the women's pole vault,
Saylor Abbott placed second by hitting a height of 3.60 meters, which is a new top eight all-time program mark.
Josh Fischer claimed first-place in the men's hammer by hitting a mark of 54.18 meters, while Nate Wonsley placed fifth by hitting a mark of 44.51 meters.
As for the men's 200-meters,
Chase Thornhill placed second with a time of 21.90 seconds at the finish.
In the men's shot put, Cameron Donoghue finished in second with a mark of 12.43 meters.
As for the women's discus
Autumn Drayton (44.81 meters) placed second,
Karmen Taylor (43.37 meters) took third, and
Jaden Finch (42.50 meters) finished in fourth.
Khalilah Conway finished first in the women's high jump by hitting a mark of 1.55 meters.
Gardner-Webb sept the podium in the women's shot put, as
Jaden Finch placed in first (13.64 meters),
Taliyah Wade took second (13.11 meters, personal best) and
Autumn Drayton (13.00 meter) followed in third.
As for the men's high jump, Ellel Cuesta placed sixth by hitting a mark of 1.70 meters.
The relay of Austin, Miranda-Rosado, Ivanov, and Payne (49.16) placed fifth in the women's 4X100-meter relay.
In the women's 400-meter run,
Brianna Payne (59.91) placed fifth,
Amira Austin (1:00.17) took seventh, and
Alena Ivanov (1:01.29) finished in ninth.
Chase Thornhill won the men's 400-meter run with a time of 47.17 seconds, teammate Sean Amour placed sixth with a personal best time of 49.15 seconds.
