Gardner-Webb Drops Series Finale To Longwood

FARMVILLE, Va. – The Gardner-Webb softball team fell to Longwood on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the league series.

Records: Gardner-Webb (15-26, 7-17 Big South); Longwood (27-22, 18-6 Big South)
Location: Lancer Field (Farmville, Va.)
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
The Lancers put up seven runs, with a trio in the first inning and four in the third frame to secure the loss for the 'Dawgs.
 
Sydney Gilbert (5-9) took the loss in the circle for Gardner-Webb. The starter threw two total frames, allowing seven and five runs, while striking out a duo of batters.
 
UP NEXT
Softball will be back in action on Saturday, May 7th, as it faces Campbell in the last conference series of the season. First pitch for the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m. in Buies Creek, North Carolina.
