BOILING SPRINGS -- The Gardner-Webb volleyball team and head coach Eric Plunkett have announced an updated start time for this Saturday's home match (Oct. 1) against UNC Asheville.
Due to impending weather from Hurricane Ian, the Big South showdown is now scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. inside Paul Porter Arena. The contest was originally slated for a 4 p.m. opening serve before weather conditions forced the match to move up in the day by two hours.
Fresh off a thrilling 3-2 road win over USC Upstate on Thursday night, the Runnin' Bulldogs (3-12; 1-2) will look to return to .500 in Big South play with a win over Asheville in front of this weekend's home crowd in Boiling Springs.
Fan entry for Saturday's match is free of charge, while those not in attendance can watch the live action on ESPN+ with Gardner-Webb's Phil Constantino and analyst Jeremy Phelps on the call.
