Wofford Defeats Gardner-Webb 4-3 on Thursday Afternoon

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Wofford defeated Gardner-Webb on Thursday afternoon by a final score of 4-3. The teams split the singles matches today after having to delay postpone it from yesterday.
Wofford clinched the doubles point as they won on courts #1 and #3. GWU's pair of Manon Delsol and Katie Watts got the victory on #2 by a 6-3 scoreline.
The Terriers improved their overall lead to 2-0 as they won on court #6. Gardner-Webb's Emilia Roslund responded for the 'Dogs as she picked up the 6-3, 6-4 decision at flight #2. Wofford went on to win on court #5 and then #3 clinch the team's win.
The afternoon finished with the Runnin' Bulldogs getting a pair of three sets triumphs to bring the overall score closer. Valeria Lloclla got her first career win with a 1-6, 6-1, 7-5 on court #4. The final match was the topflight won with Delsol coming away victorious 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-4.
Gardner-Webb returns to action on Wednesday, February 22 as they will host Queens with a first serve slated for 2:00 p.m.
