CLEMSON, S.C. – Gardner-Webb lost to Clemson on Wednesday afternoon by a final score of 22-2.
The Tigers got out to an early lead in the first quarter and held GWU scoreless until
Jada Preston notched her first goal of the season off an Emma Duschscherer assist. The score marked her 200
th career point as she now has 123 goals and 77 assists as she played in her 60
th career game.
During the fourth quarter,
Alera Cornett also had a shot hit the back of the net during the action. The shot came off a free position opportunity.
Grace Briggs led the team with three groundballs as well as
Heather Lobas scooped two. There were six different GWU players that finished with a caused turnover. Lobas, Duchscherer

Reese Jones,
Emily McGraw, and
Ella Straub.
Lauren Cretella and
Danielle Burke split the game in goal with Cretella getting the nod in the first half. She had six saves during her time in cage while Burke collected four.
After playing a pair of games of the road at ACC schools, Gardner-Webb will return home to play their next three games at home. The stretch includes Queens (3/1), Davidson (3/4), and Robert Morris (3/8). First draw for Queens will be at 4:00 p.m. from Spangler Stadium with it being live streamed on ESPN+.
