
Kyle, McLaughlin Tabbed Big South Players of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gardner-Webb's Kalyn Kyle was named Big South Conference Pitcher of The Week, and Annicka McLaughlin was named Big South Conference Freshman of the week as announced Monday by the league office.
Kyle (Clayton, N.C.) started started two complete games for the Runnin' Bulldogs and went 2-0 while throwing 17 strikeouts with a 1.50 ERA in two wins at Presbyterian.
In Game 2 of the series, Kyle surrendered just two hits with a career-high 13 strikeouts, holding the Blue Hose to one run.
McLaughlin (Tucson, Ariz.) hit .500 over the weekend with 2 runs scored, 3 RBIs, 3 sacrifices, 2 walks, and a stolen base.
In the fifth inning of a scoreless Game 3, the slapper hit a triple to left field to open the scoring for Gardner-Webb.
She followed with two RBI singles in the 6-2 victory to take the series.
Gardner-Webb will next be in action Friday, April 5, at 4:00 P.M. as they host Radford in the final series of the regular season.
