
Three Runnin' Bulldogs Named To All-Conference Teams

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Big South office announced its Softball All-Conference teams Wednesday with three Gardner-Webb players earning honors.
Outfielder Kasey Fava was named to First Team All-Conference as well as the All-Academic Team. Fava started 45 games and batted .362 with a .463 on base percentage. Both of which were career bests. The leadoff slapper from Sanford, Florida hit 4 triples, drew 28 walks, and stole 22 bases for the Runnin' Bulldogs, while scoring 48 runs. The 2023 season was Fava's third consecutive year with a .1000 fielding percentage.
Outfielder Adrienne Visintine was tabbed an Honorable Mention. Visintine started in all 53 games for GWU in the 2023 season after transferring in from Grand Canyon. The senior batted .355 with a .419 on base percentage and a .576 slugging percentage in 172 at-bats. She racked up 61 hits, tallying 13 doubles, 2 triples, and 7 homeruns with 44 RBIs. Defensively, she had 82 putouts with 0 errors. Visintine hit the walk-off homerun that capped a 10-run rally against Furman in the 8th inning on February 21.
Newcomer Annicka McLaughlin was named to the All-Freshman team. McLaughlin started in 51 games and batted .329 with a .390 on base percentage. Batting second, the slapper racked up 46 hits with 2 triples and 8 RBIs. She stole 7 bases and drew 14 walks. Defensively, the freshman infielder had 112 putouts with a .984 fielding percentage. She won Freshman of the Week May 1 for her performance against Presbyterian.
