Track & Field Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Honors

It is the 16th straight year the women's track & field team has earned the award
NEW ORLEANS, La. - Both the Gardner-Webb men's and women's track & field teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, announced on Friday, July 14.
To earn the honor, the cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
For the 16th straight year, the women's track & field team earned their way onto the list, earning the nod with a 3.53 GPA. Amy Prugh paced the women's side in the classroom, earning All-Big South Academic Team honors, posting a 3.94 GPA while majoring in Economics/Finance.
The men's track & field team earned the honor with a 3.28 GPA, their second straight year earning the honor. The men's team was led by Joe Waller, who earned an All-Big South Academic Team selection thanks to a 3.94 GPA while majoring in Psychology.
The Gardner-Webb track & field team is coming off a successful outdoor season, winning two event championships and earning 15 podium placements at the Big South Conference Championships.
