Kotsovolos Earns Big South Libero of the Week

The sophomore earns her first Big South honor of the season
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Coming off a performance at the Henson Hawk Invitational, Gardner-Webb's Sophia Kotsovolos has been named Big South Libero of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Kotsovolos, a sophomore, combined for 46 digs (4.18 per set), 14 assists and two service aces in three matches. In the first match against Quinnipiac University, Kotsovolos tied a game-high 16 digs along with four assists. She followed up with 19 digs, eight assists, and one service ace against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in game two. In the final match of the tournament, Kotsovolos recorded her seventh double-digit dig performance of the season and a game-high 11 digs while helping the 'Dawgs defense hold Hampton University to a -.070 hitting efficiency.
Gardner-Webb will once again hit the road for three matches this weekend as the Runnin' Bulldogs begin the Chattanooga Classic on Friday (Sep. 15) against Morehead State University at 1:30 p.m. The 'Dawgs will follow up with Eastern Michigan University on Saturday (Sep. 16) at 10:00 a.m. and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga at 2:00 p.m.
