BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb University softball team has announced its upcoming 2025 schedule, featuring several tournament weekends, 32 home games at Brinkley Stadium and an 18 game Big South Conference slate.

The Runnin' Bulldogs will open the spring with a run of 14 consecutive home games, largely part of tournament weekends. Gardner-Webb takes the field for the first time in 2025 as part of the Runnin' Bulldog Classic, where GWU will play West Georgia, Howard and Drexel on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 7th, 8th and 9th in Boiling Springs. That event opens with a doubleheader against West Georgia and Howard, scheduled for 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

After a midweek doubleheader against Iona on February 12th, the Runnin' Bulldogs host the Red and Black Classic. Gardner-Webb will face Iona again, as well as Sacred Heart and Robert Morris as part of Friday, Saturday and Sunday action at Brinkley Stadium on February 14th, 15th and 16th. That event opens with a doubleheader against Iona and Sacred Heart, scheduled for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday.

After a midweek home doubleheader against Western Carolina on February 19th, the Runnin' Bulldogs hit the road for the first time to take part in the Hilltopper Classic, hosted by Western Kentucky. While on site at WKU, the 'Dawgs will face the hosts, as well as Toledo and Bradley between February 21st and 23rd. GWU opens the event on Friday, taking on Bradley at 11 a.m. and Toledo at 1:30 p.m.

Back to the friendly confines of Brinkley Stadium, Gardner-Webb then hosts IU Indy, Stony Brook and Chattanooga for Spring in The Springs from February 28th to March 2nd. GWU opens the event by taking on Stony Brook at 3 p.m. and IU Indy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, ahead of more Saturday and Sunday action.

After another home midweek doubleheader, this one scheduled for Tuesday, March 4th against North Carolina Central, the Runnin' Bulldogs make the short trip to Greenville for the Furman Round Robin. On March 7th and 8th, GWU will play both Furman and Youngstown State twice as part of the three team event. Gardner-Webb then returns to the upstate on March 11th to wrap up the first half of non-conference play with a doubleheader at Wofford.

Big South Conference play begins on March 14th and 15th, as the Runnin' Bulldogs host Radford. After a quick non-conference doubleheader against Western Carolina on March 18th, Gardner-Webb then prepares to host Winthrop for three more Big South games between March 21st and 22nd.

The schedule begins to toughen as the calendar turns to late March and early April, as the 'Dawgs visit Longwood on March 29th and 30th. From there, three straight non-conference games break up the schedule as Gardner-Webb travels to nationally ranked Clemson on April 1st, and hosts ETSU and Appalachian State back to back on April 8th and 9th.

Down the home stretch, the Runnin' Bulldogs visit Presbyterian for three games between April 12th and 13th before a crucial Big South series on April 18th and 19th, where defending champions USC Upstate come to Brinkley Stadium. GWU then wraps up Big South regular season play on April 26th and 27th at Charleston Southern.

With league play in the books and time off before the postseason, the Runnin' Bulldogs visit Queens on April 30th to officially wrap up the regular season.

The Big South Tournament is then set to begin on May 7th, hosted by Presbyterian in Clinton, S.C.
