Men's Soccer Lands Record Eight Members on All-Conference Squad; Nardi Garners Scholar Athlete of the Year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A record eight members of the Gardner-Webb University men's soccer team have earned Big South All-Conference honors as announced by the league this afternoon. In addition, junior midfielder Giampaolo Nardi has been named the 2024 Big South Men's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Earning first team honors were junior forward Elias Khodri, junior defender Leo Andrade, and sophomore defender Max Fisher. The second team consisted of graduate forward Lucas Mauro, junior midfidler Giampaolo Nardi, sophomore defender Breno Correia, and senior midfielder Caio Hughes. Rounding out the honorees was freshman defender Jesper Vikman, who was named to the All-Freshman Team.
Nardi was also to garner Scholar Athlete of the Year recoginition after carrying a 3.975 GPA while studying undergraduate in Economics/Finance.
The Runnin' Bulldogs finished the regular season at 10-3-3 and earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Big South Conference Tournament. Gardner-Webb will host the winner of No. 3 Winthrop and No. 6 Presbyterian on Sunday, November 10 at 6 p.m.
