Runnin’ Bulldogs drop the first of four on the weekend at Troy
TROY, Ala. – The Gardner-Webb University softball fell to host Troy University on Friday by a final score of 9-1. It was the first of four GWU will play as part of the Troy Tournament.
Adrienne Visintine tallied Gardner-Webb lone run on the day homering to centerfield in the top of the first inning. Troy answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning before scoring two more in the second, two more in the fourth and another in the fifth to win the game by run rule. Gardner-Webb is 4-2 on the season, and Andrea Lyon sits at 1-1 on the early season.

The Runnin' Bulldogs continue the Troy Tournament on Saturday Feb. 17 when they take on Florida A&M University at 9 a.m. and Indiana University at 12 a.m.
