BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University baseball team fell in their series finale against Appalachian State University on Sunday by a final score of 15-11 in 10 innings. The game saw a combined 26 runs on 25 hits and four errors.
Following an early run from the Mountaineers, the Runnin' Bulldogs tallied a six-run bottom of the third inning with all six being RBI's. App State went on to score two in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the sixth before homering seventh to take a 10-7 lead. The 'Dawgs fought back in the bottom frame scoring a pair to come within a run. Gardner-Webb took the lead in the 11-10 in the eighth inning. App State roared back in the ninth and 10
th innings to ultimately take the ballgame 15-11.
