Gardner-Webb Drops Friday Evening Ballgame Against Saint Joseph’s

Runnin’ Bulldogs fall to Hawks in low scoring contest

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.  – The Gardner-Webb University baseball team fell in their Friday matchup with the Hawks of Saint Joseph's University by a final score of 6-2. The Runnin' Bulldogs tallied a pair of runs on six hits through nine innings.
 
Saint Joseph's built an early lead in the top of the first frame tally three runs on a trio of hits. The game sailed along as a pitcher's dual from that point with the Hawks continuing to lead Gardner-Webb entering the seventh inning. Ethan Rossow brought home Tommy Tavarez in the bottom frame recording an RBI. SJU was able to add three more insurance runs in the top of the ninth inning. Despite a sac fly to get one more across, SJU took the game 6-2.
 
UP NEXT
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 24 when they host Quinnipiac University at 2:00 p.m.
