BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.  – The Gardner-Webb University baseball team earned their second win of the new season on Saturday defeating Quinnipiac University 4-3. The Runnin' Bulldogs did so on 11 hits to the Bobcats' five.
 
Gardner-Webb got out to an early lead in the bottom the first at 
Peter Capobianco singled to score 
Mark Black. Burns went on to score a pair of RBI's of his own in the second inning singling to score 
Lawson Knight and 
Wade Kelly. Quinnipiac tied the game between the third and sixth innings at three runs each. Solid plate discipline in the seventh inning allowed the 'Dawgs to take the 4-3 lead in the bottom of the seventh as 
Ethan Rossow walked with the bases loaded scoring Burns. CJ. Czerwinski was lights out earning the win with five K's while 
Devin Pressley earned the save.
