CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Andrea Lyon has been named Big South Softball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday, March 11. This is the third straight week she has won conference weekly honors.

A graduate student from West Columbia, S.C., Lyon pitched 15.0 innings, tallying 20 strikeouts, five put outs, and posted an ERA of 1.75 getting two more wins in the circle. She also recorded four runs, on seven hits and seven RBI's lifting the Runnin' Bulldogs to five wins on the week. 

This is Lyon's third conference weekly award of the season having won Big South Pitcher of the Week for the previous two (Feb. 27, March 4).

This brings GWU's weekly award total to three in 2024. The Runnin' Bulldogs have 10 straight games entering Tuesday's (March 12) doubleheader at Furman University.
