BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University women's lacrosse team dropped their final non-conference game of the season against Queens University of Charlotte on Thursday evening by a final score of 16-4. Four different 'Dawgs found the back of the net for GWU.
The game started defensively on both sides before the Royals broke through at 8:35 in the first quarter. Queens (N.C.) added four more in the to enter the second up 5-0.
Mackenzie Gallery got the Runnin' Bulldogs on the board at 13:49 in the second quarter. The Royals added six more goals before the half leading 11-1.
Aimie Perino struck for Gardner-Webb to open the second half scoring. The 'Dawgs added another in the third off the stick of
Victoria Fischetti. The Royals added five goals to their lead in the second half, with
Alera Cornett finding the back of the net with 1:27 left to play.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will get their Big South schedule underway on the road at Winthrop University on Wednesday March 27 at 4:00 p.m.
