Gardner-Webb Drops Weekend Series at USC Upstate

Spartans complete three-game sweep of the Runnin’ Bulldogs

 
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb University baseball team fell to Big South opponent USC Upstate on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 20-2.
 
USC Upstate's Henry Proger picked up the win to go 3-1 on the season, while GWU's Michael Ciminello picked up the loss. The Runnin' Bulldogs tallied a pair of runs via the long ball in the fifth inning off the bats of Alec Burns and Peter Capobianco.
 
Gardner-Webb will return to the field on Wednesday, March 20 at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for a 6:00 p.m. first pitch.
