Andrea Lyon Picks Up Second Straight Big South Pitcher of the Week Award

Lyon picks two wins on her way to second Big South Pitcher of the Week award of the season
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Andrea Lyon has been named Big South Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday, March 4. This is the second straight week she has won the award (Feb. 27).
A graduate student from West Columbia, S.C., Lyon pitched 16.0 innings registering 19 strikeouts, a 2-0 record, and a .88 ERA over GWU's 4-0 weekend hosting the Spring in the Springs Tournament. The second of her two wins was a nine inning complete game over Mercer in extra innings preventing a run from reaching home from second with the tiebreaker in affect.
This is her and Gardner-Webb's second weekly award of the season thus far.
