BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University baseball team lost their second of a three-game weekend series against the Virginia Military Institute on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 10-0.
VMI took control early in the game via small ball scoring two in the first, one in the third, two in the fourth and one in the fifth before putting up a four spot in the ninth. Gardner-Webb cycled in five different arms in the ballgame.
VMI's Andrew Jones got the win, and GWU's
Parker Dixon picked up the loss.
The 'Dawgs and Keydets will meet on Sunday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m. in Boiling Springs for the rubber match of the series.
