BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University baseball team dropped the first game of their weekend series against High Point University Thursday evening by a final score of 3-2. Both starting pitchers went 7.2 IP as the Panthers took the one-run win.

The Panthers took the lead back on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.
Alec Burns tallied his 38
th home run of the season in the sixth to tie the ballgame back up at 2-2.
High Point ultimate singled to bring home the winning run in the top of the seventh inning. Gus Hughes got eh win,
Blake Brogdon the loss, and Adam Grintz the save.
