Lyon, Visintine and McLaughlin Earn 2024 Big South Season Honors

Lyon picks up two awards; Visintine and McLaughin each pick up one
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A trio of Gardner-Webb softball players have won end of season conference awards for 2024. Andrea Lyon has been named to the Big South All-Conference First Team, and All-Academic Team, Adrienne Visintine has been named to the All-Conference Second Team, and Annicka McLaughlin has been named Honorable Mention All-Conference. The Big South announced on Wednesday, May 8.
A graduate student from West Columbia, S.C., Lyon recorded 45 hits, four home runs, 27 RBIs, and a batting average of .319 this season as designated player. She did this also while being the ace of the pitching staff posting a 2.36 ERA, a 12-7 record, and a career high 114 strikeouts.
Another graduate student from Parker, Colorado, Visintine started all 53 games for the Runnin' Bulldogs in 2024. She led the roster in hits with 47, RBIs with 41, home runs with nine, and was third in batting average at .311.
A sophomore from Tucson, Arizona, McLaughlin led the 'Dawgs in batting average at .326. She tallied 45 hits, 11 RBIs, 25 runs and six stolen bases.
