Gardner-Webb Men’s Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule

The Runnin’ Bulldogs will play six matches at home this season
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University men's soccer team has announced the schedule for its upcoming 2024 season. The program announced the 2024 fall slate on Monday.
Gardner-Webb will face two teams from the Ohio Valley Conference, two teams from the Sun Belt, one from the Atlantic Coast Conference, one from the SoCon, and one from Conference Carolinas. The Runnin' Bulldogs will play six matches at home inside the confines of Greene-Harbison Stadium.
"I am extremely happy with the work our staff has done to complete the 2024 Fall schedule.", said coach Wells. "We are yet again testing ourselves against nationally ranked programs and looking to solidify ourselves as a championship contending program within the Big South. We are 12 months wiser and showing great momentum off the back of our Carolina Cup championship."
The 2024 season begins on the road with Gardner-Webb traveling to Houston Christian University on Aug. 22. The road trip continues on to the University of Incarnate Word on Aug. 25.
The Runnin' Bulldogs' home opener will be on Sept. 1 against Barton College for the first of two home matches. GWU will then play a pair of 2023 NCAA Tournament teams welcoming Wake Forest University on Sept. 6 before going on the road to Marshall University on Sept. 10. They will then travel to Costal Carolina University on Sept. 14.
Gardner-Webb will get their Big South Schedule underway at home against Radford on Sept. 21 prior to another non-conference road trip to Furman University on Sept. 24. Big South play then continues for the 'Dawgs on Sept. 28 at Winthrop, then on Oct. 5 at UNC Asheville, and on Oct. 12 at home against Presbyterian.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will slide out of conference play twice more before the end of the regular season with the first being a road trip to East Tennessee State University on Oct. 15. GWU will then travel to Longwood on Oct. 19 before hosting the University of Alabama Birmingham on Oct. 22 to close the non-conference schedule.
Gardner-Webb will hold its Senior Night prior to their final home match on Oct. 26 against USC Upstate. The 'Dawgs will then close out the regular season on the road on Nov. 1 against the 2023 Big South regular season and tournament champions High Point.
The 2024 Big South men's soccer tournament will begin with the quarterfinals on Nov. 6, followed by the semifinals on Nov. 10, closing with the championship game on Nov. 16. All tournament matches will take place at the higher seeded school's home stadium.
