
Eleven Students Recognized by IWLCA; Team Adds 12 New Players for the Season

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The Gardner-Webb Women's Lacrosse team has been recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) as an honor squad for the 2023-2024 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
In addition, 11 players were selected to the Division 1 IWLCA Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
"Our staff could not be prouder of our team's efforts in the classroom during the 23-24 school year," praised Head Coach Kathleen Mirgon Crum. "This past fall, we held the highest team GPA in program history and were excited to be named an Honors Squad following our spring season. Our ladies adjusted to a lot this past year and academics never wavered. I'm very lucky to lead such a special group—the standard is set for years to follow!"

Twelve New Players Added for 2024-2025
Mirgon Crum has added 12 players for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. "This group will add high level competition, tenacity, resilience and the buy in to play for something bigger than yourself," she affirmed.

The team is preparing for their first game of the season on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, at UNC-Charlotte. "It will be UNC-Charlotte's first game ever as a program," Mirgon Crum said. "We are lucky to get to play them,"
