CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Per release from the Big South Conference, junior middle Milla Lugo and graduate libero Nalani McBride headline the Big South Volleyball Season Awards for Gardner-Webb after a successful 2025 season
Receiving First Team-All Big South honors, Big South Co-Libero of the Year and Big South newcomer of the year, is graduate libero Nalani McBride. Arriving as a graduate transfer from Temple, McBride was incredible for Gardner-Webb over her lone season with the program. The Stafford, Va. native was named Big South Libero of The Week seven different times over the course of a season where she recorded 653 digs, an average of 5.62 digs per set. Not only did McBride finish with the second most digs in a single NCAA Division I season at Gardner-Webb, just seven back of tying the record, but she also finished as the Big South Conference and NCAA Division I leader in both total digs and digs per set. To add to the accomplishments, McBride also surpassed 1,000 career digs between Gardner-Webb and Temple against Radford on October 25th, ultimately finishing her college career with 1,141
Receiving a selection to the Big South All-Academic Team is junior middle Milla Lugo. Lugo was not only excellent in her second season with the Runnin' Bulldogs on the court, but off the court as well. In the classroom, Lugo worked towards her degree in mathematics while holding down a 3.76 GPA. She did all this while being a force in the Big South Conference, where she was tenth in kills with 94, tied for seventh in league games with a .287 hitting percentage and first in both total blocks with 57 and solo blocks with 14
