CONWAY, S.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team (2-7, 0-0 Big South) took the court for the second game in a stretch of three straight days in action, falling 108-57 at Coastal Carolina (5-4, 0-0 Sun Belt)
The story of Sunday's match-up would wind up being offensive production, with home-standing Coastal Carolina shooting 58.2% (39-of-67) for the game, knocking down 14 three pointers, and scoring at least 25 point in three of four quarters.
The Runnin' Bulldogs were able to run with Coastal early on, down 8-6 at the first media timeout after freshman forward
Sara Menendez scored in the paint. Two more freshman helped pace GWU early, with freshman guard
Rafferty Powell and freshman forward
Kamille Henriksen also adding paint points.Â
In the second quarter, Gardner-Webb turned to the outside shot. Redshit senior guard
Jaelyn Acker knocked down all three of her field goals for the game, scoring nine of the 11 Gardner-Webb points. At the half, the Runnin' Bulldogs trailed 42-24
Gardner-Webb posted its best scoring quarter in the third, putting 17 points up on the board. GWU got some good production from senior guard
Nyla Walker, who cashed in beyond the arc, in the mid-range and dished out an assist. After three, it was 82-41 Coastal Carolina. The home side scored 40 points in the third quarter, shooting at an 82.4% (14-of-17) clip.
The Runnin' Bulldogs continued to battle in the fourth quarter, with Walker hitting a late three, Menendez connecting in the mid-range, and Powell adding a couple late free throws. Coastal Carolina would see the game out over the final 10 minutes, as the Runnin' Bulldogs fell 108-57

Walker led the Dawgs with 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting in 33 minutes, Acker added 11, while freshman guard
Makayla Legette scored 10 points on 4-of-6 from the field, Powell meanwhile added a season-high eight points with three steals
