CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb (0-1) women's lacrosse team opened the 2025 season with a 20-2 defeat at Charlotte on Saturday afternoon in Jerry Stadium.
Junior midfielder
Emma Duchscherer and freshman attack
Katie Westbrook each provided a goal for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
Sophomore defender
Abby Consaul led the team with three groundballs and three caused turnovers. Senior defender
Ella Straub also contributed a trio of caused turnovers. Freshman midfielder
Alexa Kleinberger picked up her first collegiate assist.
Charlotte held a 38-7 advantage on shots, including 29-5 shots on goal. Sophomore keeper
Emma Anderson tallied seven saves in goal while sophomore
Annie Wise earned a pair of saves.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, February 14, traveling to Fairfax, Va. to take on George Mason University, First draw is slated for 4 p.m.
