BOILING SPINGS, N.C. - With the changing of the guard at the head of the Gardner-Webb football program, over the next few weeks we will take a look at the new faces that will pace the sidelines for head coach Kris McCullough and the Runnin' Bulldogs. Today's spotlight will be Kendrick Davis. Davis will serve as the Offensive Run Game and Offensive Line Coach.
Prior to his arrival at GWU, Davis was at Iowa Western. At Iowa Western, Davis managed the offensive line room, leading individual and group development while focusing on technical fundamentals such as footwork, hand placement, and overall blocking technique. He was responsible for running offensive line and tight end drills, breaking down film, and collaborating with the offensive coordinator to develop scouting reports and game plans. His work helped several players advance to the NCAA Division I level, including athletes who signed with programs such as Wyoming, Troy, Sam Houston, Georgia State, Charlotte, Memphis, and Washington State.
Prior to Iowa Western, Davis served as a Graduate Assistant Tight Ends/Offensive Line Coach at Southeastern Oklahoma State University from 2022–23. In that role, he ran his own position meetings, assisted with offensive line development, prepared scouting reports, and coordinated defensive front and blitz identification on game days. His coaching contributed to an offense that produced over 5,000 yards of total offense in a single season.
Before beginning his coaching career, Davis was a collegiate offensive lineman with experience at multiple levels of college football. He played Division I football at Missouri State University as a graduate transfer under head coach Bobby Petrino, starting on the offensive line for a team that finished second in the Missouri Valley Conference. Prior to Missouri State, he was a starting guard at Fort Hays State University and began his collegiate career at Iowa Western Community College, where he served as a team captain and earned second-team all-conference and all-region honors.
Davis holds a Master's degree in Sport Management from Southeastern Oklahoma State University (3.9 GPA), a Master's degree in Sports Management from Missouri State University, and a Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance from Fort Hays State University.
