LAST TIME OUT: The Runnin' Bulldogs are coming off a 10-6 road loss at Radford last Saturday. GWU is 1-3 in the Big South so far after scoring an impressive 15-12 road win at Winthrop back on April 4th, a contest where GWU scored seven first quarter goals en route to a victory

Emma Anderson has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Big South Conference so far in 2026. The Alpharetta, Ga. native leads the Big South in both saves (138) and saves per game (10.62) and is fourth in save percentage (.451). Anderson has kept a season high for saves in each of the last two games, with 16 against Presbyterian and 17 against Radford
STAR FRESHMAN: Also among the Big South statistical leaders is freshman midfielderÂ
Maddie Tredway. Tredway has been excellent at the draw control for Gardner-Webb this season, and ranks third in the conference with 87 draw controls won and an average of 7.25 per game. She previously set a league single game record back on March 13th, recording 18 draw controls against Quinnipiac
BALANCED ATTACK: Five Runnin' Bulldogs have recorded double digit goals to this point in the season. Tredway leads the team with 21 goals, followed by freshman midfielder

THE DEFENSIVE END: In defense, the Runnin' Bulldogs are led by both junior defense
Abby Consaul and senior defense
Holly Martindale. Each are above 1.00 caused turnovers per game, with Consaul recording 21 for the season, good for seventh in the Big South at 1.62 per game, and Martindale with 14 total
SCOUTING MERCER: Mercer enters Wednesday's contest as the only undefeated team in the Big South, sitting at 4-0 in conference play. The Bears concede the second fewest goals in the league at 10.94 per game, while being the highest scoring team in the Big South on average, finding the back of the net 13.62 times per game
LOOKING AHEAD: Including Mercer on Wednesday, three of the final four games of the regular season for Gardner-Webb are at home. GWU will visit Longwood on April 18th, before hosting High Point on April 22nd and Furman on April 25th
