April 27, 2026 | Softball
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Following a herculean effort in the circle to help the Runnin' Bulldogs to a must-have sweep over Longwood, senior right-hander Alli Stidham of the Gardner-Webb softball team has been named Big South Pitcher of The Week
In a series where the Runnin' Bulldogs had to sweep to secure a Big South Tournament berth, Stidham pitched in all three games against Longwood, including two starts. She'd toss 21.0 total innings and two complete games, allowing 18 hits, four total runs, three earned runs, three walks and with nine strikeouts.
The senior right-hander pitched a complete game, four strikeout shutout in the opener on Friday, then pitched all 9.0 innings in an extra innings win on Saturday with five strikeouts and two runs
allowed, then tossed the final 5.0 innings on Sunday, allowing only one earned run.
For good measure, Stidham also went 4-for-9 at the plate during the weekend, including a 3-for-4 game on Saturday in addition to her extra innings pitching performance
