Stidham Named National Mid-Major Pitcher of The Week By D1 Softball

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Following her magnificent weekend-long performance to pitch Gardner-Webb softball into the postseason, senior right-hander Alli Stidham has been named National Mid-Major Pitcher of The Week by D1softball.com
In a series where the Runnin' Bulldogs had to sweep to secure a Big South Tournament berth, Stidham pitched in all three games against Longwood, including two starts. She'd toss 21.0 total innings and two complete games, allowing 18 hits, four total runs, three earned runs, three walks and with nine strikeouts.
The senior right-hander pitched a complete game, four strikeout shutout in the opener on Friday, then pitched all 9.0 innings in an extra innings win on Saturday with five strikeouts and two runs
allowed, then tossed the final 5.0 innings on Sunday, allowing only one earned run.
For all her efforts, Stidham was also named Big South Pitcher of The Week by the league office earlier this week
Stidham is the first Gardner-Webb player to be recognized nationally by D1softball.com and is the first Big South player to win the site's Mid-Major Pitcher or Mid-Major Player of The Week awards, launched this season
