Alli Stidham of the Gardner-Webb softball team has been named First Team Mid-Atlantic All-Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Assosciation
Stidham had an incredible senior season for the Runnin' Bulldogs The senior from Saginaw, Texas led Gardner-Webb with a .382 batting average in 54 games during the regular season, with 63 hits, 12 doubles and 6 home runs. Stidham also pitched the majority of innings for the Dawgs, tallying 144.1 to the tune of a 3.35 ERA across 29 appearances, including a league-leading 77.2 innings just in Big South play. For her efforts, Stidham also received a National Mid-Major Pitcher of The Week honor from D1 Softball in late April, and was top five in the league in both batting average and earned run average - the only player in the Big South to do all three
She was perhaps even better in the postseason, following up a Second Team All-Big South selection with a selection to the Big South Championship All-Tournament team. Stidham pitched 22.1 innings for the Runnin' Bulldogs over four games, leading GWU to two wins. In the two wins, she gave up four runs against Presbyterian in the first round, then battled back and was even better in Friday's elimination game win over Radford, allowing only one run in a complete game. At the plate, Stidham also went 7-for-14 (.500) over the four games, collecting five RBIs and mashing a pair of home runs
Stidham is one of 378 athletes from 154 different programs to be honored as an All-Region player by the NFCA for the 2026 season
