Gardner-Webb Volleyball Receives 2026 AVCA Team Honor Roll Award

KANSAS CITY, MO - After another successful year on the court and in the classroom, the Gardner-Webb volleyball team has been named a recipient of the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll Award
As part of the AVCA Team Academic Award program, the Runnin' Bulldogs have been named among the best academic programs from across the nation. As a winner of the Team Academic Honor Roll Award, Gardner-Webb has also received an extra distinction as one of the programs inside the top 20% academically for their respective division. The Runnin' Bulldogs posted an outstanding 3.72 team GPA for the academic year, with every single student-athlete finishing above a 3.30 for the term and three individuals recording a perfect 4.00
This is the second year in a row Gardner-Webb has been named among the top 20% of NCAA Division I programs, a mark given to just 49 other NCAA Division I programs nationwide this term and to just one other member of the Big South

The 2025-26 school year proved to be yet another academically dominant year, as 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), to earn the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award.
"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
