Gardner-Webb Caps Off Perfect Saturday with Four-Set Win

Carrollton, G.A.- The Gardner-Webb volleyball team bounded back from a set-one setback to claim a 3-1 victory (22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 26-24) over LSU New Orleans on Saturday afternoon at The Coliseum. The win marks the Runnin' Bulldogs' second victory of the day and pushes their overall record to 6-4 on the season.
LSU New Orleans took the opening frame 25-22 behind a hot-hitting start. However, Gardner-Webb quickly responded, taking control of the second set 25-20 and rolling through the third set 25-17 while hitting .308.
The deciding fourth set proved to be a nail-biter, featuring 13 tie scores and six lead changes. With LSU New Orleans pushing to extend the match, Gardner-Webb held tough late to secure the 26-24 set win and cap off the four-set match victory.
The Runnin Bulldogs next match is The Governors Classic in Clarksville, TN on September 18th.
