Aaron Blankenship is in his first season as Director ofBasketball Operations at Gardner-Webb University. Blankenship willhandle day-to-day operations for theprogram, in addition to headingup video exchange, breakdown and study, assisting with travelplans, overseeing equipment, organizing and selecting team managersand a host of other responsibilities within the basketballprogram.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native joined the Gardner-Webb family afterspending one season as an assistant coach of Weddington (N.C.)High. Blakenship served four seasons as the head manager forthe Ohio University Bobcats (2005-2009), assisting with dailyoperations, scouting and administrative duties within theprogram.
Blankenship also helped plan and execute a summer camp thatincluded more than 250 players and organized a staff of eight othermanagers. He also worked within the community with CampusCrusade for Christ and Athletes in Action.
He graduated from Ohio with a degree in Education, majoring inintegrated Social Studies Education and minoring in History andPolitical Science.
Blankenship and his wife, Frances, currently reside in Gastonia,N.C.
