Paul Hemrick is his first season as an assistant coach with theRunnin' Bulldogs, after serving at a high level as Director ofBasketball Operations for the past two years.
Hemrick played an integral role in leading the Runnin' Bulldogsto a record-setting season in 2012-2013. The Runnin' Bulldogsposted a 21-13 overall record and finished just a game out of firstplace in the final Big South Conference regular season standings.After advancing to the Big South Tournament semifinals, GWU madeits first NCAA Division I postseason appearance – hosting OVCpower Eastern Kentucky in the first round of the 2013CollegeInsiders.com Postseason Tournament.
During his two seasons as Director of BasketballOperations, Hemrick had a hand in all aspects of the program, fromadministrative duties on a daily basis to overseeing the team'sstudent managers and responsibilities for all video exchange andediting. His expertise with video was a very important aspect ofGardner-Webb's scouting success.
The John's Creek, Ga., native comes to Boiling Springsafter spending the past two seasons as head varsity men'sbasketball coach at Westminster Christian Academy in Watkinsville,Ga. He directed the squad to a 17-8 record in his first season,improving the previous season's win total by eight games. Hedirected the Lions to a pair of state tournament appearances andhad five players named All-Region in two seasons.
Hemrick spent four seasons as a student manager at theUniversity of Georgia from 2005-2009, coordinating film exchange inaddition to responsibilities for equipment and filming.
Hemrick graduated from Georgia in May, 2009, with a B.A.in Business Administration-Management and a B.S. inEducation-Sports Management.
