Diego Sist is in his second season with the Bulldogs, havinghelped guide GWU to a 10-13 overall record last season.
Originally from Asuncion,Paraguay, Sist is a graduate of South Carolina Upstate, where hewas named to the Peach Belt all-conference tennis team in bothsingles and doubles three out of the four years he played for theSpartans.
Sist was also selected to theinaugural Peach Belt Conference All-Sportsmanship team and wasdecorated prior to his arrival at Gardner-Webb by the athleticdepartment, receiving the school’s Male Student-Athlete ofthe year award for excellence in athletics, academics, andcommunity service.
While Diego was in Paraguay, hewas ranked in the South American top 10 in singles and representedParaguay in 1998 and 2001 in the Davis Cup.
Sist graduated from USC Upstatewith a degree in business administration and will be pursuing hisMBA while at GWU.
