Ashleigh Nicoll was named Assistant Coach of the Gardner-Webb University volleyball program ahead of the 2025 season
Nicoll arrived at Gardner-Webb following a stellar playing and academic career, first with New Hampshire then with USC Upstate. In three seasons with the Spartans, Nicoll played in 72 matches, recording 632 kills, and helping to anchor the program in the Big South Conference. As a junior, she was selected as an All-Big South Honorable Mention player while academically, Nicoll was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team at the end of the 2023 season
During the 2025 season at Gardner-Webb, Nicoll was named as a recipient for the AVCA T.E.A.M. award. As one of just 44 recipients nationwide, Nicoll was invited to the 2025 AVCA Convention in Kansas City, Missouri where she participated in a series of educational seminars, focusing on professional and personal development for coaches and taking part in additional relationship-building experiences
A native of Holly Springs, N.C. and a two-sport letter-winner in volleyball and swimming at Holly Springs High School, Nicoll was named North Carolina High School Athletic Association 4A All-Southwest Wake Conference as both a sophomore and senior
