Boatwright joined the Gardner-Webb staff as an assistant coach in April 2023. She spent the two seasons prior at UL Lafayette and was at Eckerd College in St. Petersberg, Fla. for the three years before then. During her stint at Eckerd, she was tabbed to the AVCA Thirty Under 30 Beach Award for beach volleyball coaches.
During her playing career, she competed at Augusta (Ga.) University and Eckerd College between 2014-2017. During her four years, she compiled 985 kills, 113 aces, and 1324 digs. In addition to this, she advanced to the NCAA National Tournament twice during her career.
During her freshman year at Augusta, she helped the team set a program-record as they collected 27 wins and made it to the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament. She transferred to Eckerd for her final two years and continued to be a force on the court as she had 2.82 digs per set her junior year and 2.37 digs per set. While at Eckerd, she played beach and had a 15-7 record her senior year to help the team to a runner-up finish at the AVCA Small College Championships.
In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Boatwright was a two-time recipient of the SSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in behavioral science from Eckerd College.
